How to use HTML 5 Media codec?

Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) is a popular format like MP3. But its sound quality and bit rate are better than MP3. It is used in iPhone, iPad, Youtube, PlayStation3 etc.


Moving Pictures Expert Group (MPEG) developed the format MP3 (standard MPEG-1 or MPEG-2). This is the most popular format for audio file format on the Internet.

WebM Vorbis.webm

WebM Vorbis is an audio format for HTML5 audio. It has been made by Google Inc. and it is an extension of the Matroska format. It is an Open source, free, patent and royalty free format. It supports Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.

Ogg Opus.opus

Opus Audio Codec Format has been developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Its purpose is real-time audio support on the Internet. It supports lossy audio compression.

It is a complete free container format created by Xiph.Org Foundation. Its performance is comparable to H.264 / MPEG-4.


H.264 / MPEG-4 is the standard of its most popular video compressor. It is more used in encoded High Definition (HD) and BL.
